It has been an honour to participate in the Annual Bayer Sustainability Council Meetings this week at the Bayer Global HQ Campus in Berlin, where fellow Council members and I advanced discussions on how science, innovation, and partnership can deliver sustainability that is both credible and measurable.

Our agenda and deliberations addressed the nexus of climate action and health action, with sustainability defined not only by environmental targets, but by healthier mothers, nourished children, resilient communities, and the farming systems which foster them.

This commitment was further reflected in the Bayer co-convened POLITICO Live “Berlin to Belém: What’s at Stake for Global Climate Action” event, which called attention to the urgent need to anchor global ambition in local realities, particularly ahead of COP 30 Brasil.

It was a pleasure to meet my fellow council members in person, as we are guided by Bayer’s mission of Health for All, Hunger for None; I remain steadfast, through my Wellbeing Foundation Africa, in championing initiatives which translate global commitments into tangible, lasting frontline improvement impact for women, children, and families worldwide.
