As a World Economic Forum Champion of the Global Alliance for Women’s Health, I was honoured to join fellow Champions at the Annual Meeting of the Champions on the occasion of the 80th United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week and the World Economic Forum Sustainable Development Impact Meetings.
Despite increasing awareness, investment, research, and policy for women’s health remain strikingly inadequate. Too often, the discussion is confined to traditional health stakeholders, overlooking finance, technology, governance, and innovation, even though women’s health is a proven driver of economic development, scientific progress, human capital, and societal resilience.
Our meeting advanced a refreshed global narrative, and an advocacy toolkit designed to elevate women’s health as a strategic priority across all sectors. By aligning evidence, financing, and implementation, Champions are helping to foster shared ownership of a framework that can deliver coordinated action and investment for generations to come.
