As a Member of the Bayer Sustainability Council, I was so pleased this week to meet with the Bayer Foundation’s One Young World Delegation during the Summit in Munich to advance a purposeful dialogue on inclusion and equitable access to health. Our exchange brought together Dr Chitkala Kalidas, Senior Vice President and Global Head of ESG, who also serves as Executive Director of the Bayer Foundation, and Rubén Alejandro Ramírez, Global Head of Inclusion and Diversity, alongside inspiring youth colleagues committed to responsible innovation and societal impact.
I welcomed the opportunity to connect corporate sustainability leadership with frontline health realities, as we discussed how robust ESG governance, an inclusive culture, and science-led solutions can accelerate measurable improvements for women, adolescents, and children, particularly in vulnerable settings. This alignment will be central to the practical pathways we pursue together in the months ahead.
Within the Summit’s energetic environment of youth leadership and global partnership, we reflected on how the Bayer Foundation’s social innovation mandate and Bayer’s broader programming can reinforce community-centred access, resilient health systems, and evidence-informed delivery. I am grateful to Bayer and the delegation for a constructive exchange that advanced our shared commitment to sustainable impact, guided by the values of mentorship, learning, and intergenerational collaboration that One Young World so powerfully represents.
