On the occasion of the French National Day 2025 celebration, I was honoured to attend the reception hosted by the Consul Général de France à Lagos, M. Laurent Favier, held at the Lycée Louis Pasteur, Victoria Island.
I extend my sincere appreciation to the Consulate General of France for the gracious invitation and for convening a distinguished diplomatic gathering that reflected the strong bonds of amity, cooperation, and shared values between the French Republic and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
As we approach Bastille Day, la Fête Nationale Française, a commemoration of the universal principles of liberté, égalité, fraternité, we are reminded of the power of these convictions to transcend borders, uniting nations in the pursuit of justice, dignity, and human progress.
These ideals continue to shape the rich and dynamic relationship between the République Française and the République Fédérale du Nigéria, grounded in mutual respect, cultural exchange, and strategic collaboration. I look forward to continued engagement in advancing un avenir commun, a shared future, built on these lasting values.
