2024 Annual Impact Report – Over 20 Years of Action: Delivering Quality Healthcare & Wellbeing for All

As the new development calendar begins, the Wellbeing Foundation Africa is proud to present its 2024 Annual Impact Report, Over 20 Years of Action: Delivering Quality Healthcare & Wellbeing for All.

In 2024, WBFA reached over 302,000 women, children, and families across Nigeria, advancing maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health through integrated programmes encompassing antenatal education, midwifery, neonatal intensive care, digital health, water, sanitation and hygiene, immunisation, nutrition, counselling, and women’s empowerment, alongside a wider spectrum of interventions.

The results were significant; through MamaCare360, 71,000 pregnant women received antenatal and postnatal education and support, contributing to more than 14,000 safe deliveries. In our MamaCare360 NICU Plus programme, 876 preterm babies received specialised care, with more than 850,000 millilitres of breastmilk expressed. Our Digital Midwifery platform provided 12,329 mothers with continuous access to midwives, while the Wellbeing Foundation Africa – Dettol Hygiene Quest reached 238,000 beneficiaries with critical WASH practices across schools, health facilities, and communities.

Over the past two decades, WBFA has reached more than two million women, children, and families, contributing to measurable improvements in health equity and system resilience. In 2024 alone, our programmes also strengthened emergency obstetric care through the Global Health Workforce Programme (GHWP), and, together with our social impact partners Reckitt, we launched Project Oscar – Light for Life, all delivered in alignment with Nigeria’s national health priorities, the Demographic and Health Survey, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

As we enter our third decade of action, WBFA remains committed to scaling proven interventions, embedding research and innovation, and advancing resilient, equitable health ecosystems across Nigeria. As this report demonstrates, 2024 was a catalytic year in which advocacy, evidence, and frontline implementation converged to deliver measurable, life-saving results.
