Call to Action – Partnerships for Autism

While at the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week, I was honoured to join the launch of the Global Autism Advocacy Coalition, convened by the State of Qatar, Qatar Foundation, the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and Autism Speaks.

With more than 61 million individuals on the autism spectrum worldwide, this Coalition represents a commitment to advancing equity across the lifespan, strengthening systems of care, and fostering inclusive environments in families, schools, communities, and workplaces.

On behalf of the Wellbeing Foundation Africa, I proudly pledge our support to this global effort, raising awareness, empowering midwives and community health workers for early recognition and referral, and ensuring that every child and family can thrive with dignity.

It was also a privilege to see my dear sister Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, Advisor to the Prime Minister of the State of Qatar on Public Health Affairs, whose engagement highlights Qatar’s ongoing leadership in advancing global health and inclusion.
