Wellbeing Foundation Africa Engages Amazon Web Services on Digital Health Equity

It was a pleasure yesterday to join the Wellbeing Foundation Africa Lagos Team virtually for a hybrid discussion with the leadership of Amazon Web Services for Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa, where we were received by Robin Njiru, Regional Lead, Public Sector, Sub-Saharan Africa, Nnenna Irebisi-Okoli, Public Sector Lead for West Africa, and Chukwudi Obi of the Worldwide Public Sector team for West Africa.

Through the Health Equity Initiative, the Imagine Grant and its Social Responsibility and Impact Programme, Amazon Web Services has made a substantive institutional commitment to the place of cloud technology in the delivery of health, in which connectivity, computational capability and secure data infrastructure are understood as instruments of health equity.

The Wellbeing Foundation Africa holds that where connectivity is secured, expertise becomes a shared resource rather than a local one, and the standard of care rises accordingly.

My appreciation is extended to the Amazon Web Services team for a generous and forward-looking exchange.
