WBFA 2025 Impact Report, From Evidence to Action: Transforming Policy and Frontline Delivery

It is with pleasure that I commend the Wellbeing Foundation Africa on the release of its 2025 Impact Report, From Evidence to Action: Transforming Policy and Frontline Delivery, which captures a year in which our collective resolve to place evidence at the service of women, newborns and families across Nigeria has been translated into measurable gains in health and wellbeing.

I am encouraged that MamaCare360 reached 96,907 more women in healthcare facilities, households and communities with antenatal and postnatal education spanning birth preparedness, danger sign recognition and essential newborn care, and that the MamaCare360 NICU Plus Programme supported 1,002 more preterm, low-birthweight and sick newborns and 892 mothers with specialised lactation support, promoting early initiation and exclusive breastfeeding as the first and optimal nutrition for our most vulnerable infants.

Through our Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE) and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Curriculum, the WBFA–Dettol Hygiene Quest Programme extended behaviour-centred hygiene education to more than 200,000 beneficiaries, embedding handwashing and infection prevention within foundational learning across schools, healthcare facilities and communities, while the LSTM–WBFA Global Health Workforce Programme strengthened emergency obstetric care among frontline clinicians and Project Oscar — Light for Life, our Neonatal Jaundice Screening, Treatment and Kernicterus Prevention programme, strengthened early detection, referral and phototherapy across healthcare facilities in Lagos State, together reinforcing the quality of care on which so many lives depend.

To our partners, our dedicated midwives, nurses, doctors and health workers and the communities who entrust us with their care, I extend my sincere gratitude, and I invite you to read the full report:
