Advancing Hygiene and WASH Practices: Insights from Stakeholder Engagement Meetings

I commend the Wellbeing Foundation Africa and Dettol Nigeria Hygiene Quest Programme, supported by social impact partners Reckitt, for their continued commitment to advancing water, sanitation, and hygiene education and practices across Nigeria, as they recently held quarterly stakeholder engagement meetings for the second and third quarters in Abuja, Lagos, and Kwara State, serving as vital platforms to provide program updates, foster meaningful dialogue, and gather valuable feedback from healthcare facilities, schools, and communities in which the program is implemented.

Bringing together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Hospital Management Board, the Federal Ministry of Water Resources Nigeria, school administrators, and community leaders, the insights, learnings and experiences shared highlighted the program’s success while helping to identify areas requiring further attention to bridge gaps and drive sustainable intergenerational impact.

Through these collaborative efforts, the Wellbeing Foundation Africa and Dettol Nigeria Hygiene Quest Programme continue to make significant strides in achieving widespread hygiene coverage, empowering families to adopt healthy Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) habits, and practice proper handwashing, building resilient communities towards achieving the Clean Naija initiative.
