I spent a wonderful Galentines Day at the exclusive Women in Business Lunch hosted by the British Deputy High Commissioner, Mr Jonny Baxter, in honour of UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Rt. Hon. Kemi Badenoch MP and the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy for Nigeria, Helen Grant, yesterday.
My to-do list to support women and girls equality in Nigeria and across Africa, and to deepen the ties of human capital development investments between the UK and Nigeria include initiatives to:
💵 Close the wage gap
🧑⚕️ Protect reproductive health care, water, sanitation and hygiene for wellbeing
📚 Ensure education for all
❌ Stop gender-based violence
♻️ Act on climate
🫶 End bigotry, discrimination, racism, misinformation and misogyny
I was also delighted to share the impact of the Wellbeing Foundation Africa’s progress in improving the availability and quality of maternal and newborn care in Nigeria, and our deepening collaborations with UK institutions.
