I am deeply honored to have been appointed as the Special Adviser to the Independent Advisory Group (IAG) of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Africa. This role represents a pivotal opportunity to contribute to strengthening health systems across the continent and advancing the health and well-being of women, newb orns, and communities.
As a long-time advocate for maternal, newborn, and child health, my focus has always been on driving impactful policies and programs that prioritize health equity, access to quality healthcare, and sustainable development. Through my work as Founder-President of the Wellbeing Foundation Africa, I have witnessed firsthand the critical need for improved maternal and child health services, workforce investment, and community-led solutions that empower frontline health workers.
The WHO Africa Independent Advisory Group, under the leadership of WHO Africa Regional Director Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, plays a vital role in shaping policies that drive transformative change in healthcare across the region. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside distinguished global health leaders to help shape strategies that will improve health outcomes for millions across Africa.
I remain committed to championing sustainable health systems, advocating for respectful maternity care, and working collaboratively to ensure that every woman, child, and community has access to the healthcare they deserve.
Together, we can build a healthier future for Africa.
