Following the extremely successful 2-day Vscan Portable Ultrasound Machine training and practical, organised by the Wellbeing Foundation Africa in partnership with General Electric Healthcare in Abuja and Lagos, I congratulate all the Kwara and Osun State participants, and their respective Directors of Nursing and Midwifery who completed their training today at the Wellbeing Foundation Africa designated Kwara Centre of Excellence for Nursing and Medical Education at the College of Nursing and Midwifery, Ilorin!
The Vscan Portable Ultrasound Machine is a state-of-the-art medical device that provides real-time imaging of the internal organs of pregnant women, allowing Wellbeing Foundation Africa’s frontliners to provide the most up-to-date and informed quality care. Equipping midwives, nurses and healthcare workers with the necessary knowledge and reporting skills to effectively use ultrasound machinery to improve maternal and foetal outcomes, ensuring safer births; the training is a key component to reducing the maternal and infant mortality indices in Nigeria.
The Wellbeing Africa Foundation is proud to partner with General Electric Healthcare to provide this essential upskilling opportunity, and education, to detect potential complications during pregnancy and provide timely interventions to prevent adverse outcomes for mothers and their babies, allowing families to not only survive, but thrive.
