Audience: 40 participants. The meeting will convene private sector leaders from various business sectors and other commitment‑makers to Every Woman, Every Child.
Hosts: Merck, GE Healthcare, Intel, Wellbeing Foundation of Nigeria, Government of Norway (NORAD), Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Children’s Health, United Nations Foundation.
Objectives
The meeting aligns with the launch of the report “Innovating for Women and Children”, as part of the Global Campaign on Health MDGs. It aims to:
- Learn: Extend an opportunity for the hosts to provide more details and nuances to their individual commitments to Every Woman, Every Child and opportunities for partnerships going forward. Also allow other private sector leaders to discuss and share their own commitments.
- Dialogue – “Towards sustainable partnerships and business models”: Create a forum to explore connections and areas of overlap between current commitments, with particular attention on fostering progress and implementation at country level through partnerships between the private sector and local governments.
- Develop: Identify shared‑value propositions and build consensus toward maintaining a strong focus on effective private sector engagement in women’s and children’s health, moving from pilots to sustainable partnership models with global health stakeholders.
