The Wellbeing Foundation Africa

The Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA), is a non-governmental organisation at the forefront of driving positive health outcomes and transformative wellbeing across Nigeria and the African continent. Since its inception in 2004 by Her Excellency Mrs. Toyin Ojora Saraki, WBFA has been implementing frontline programming and advocating for health and wellbeing while championing sustainable development initiatives. Our foundation is deeply rooted in a commitment to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), recognising them as crucial benchmarks for progress. With an unwavering focus on frontline impact and global alignment, WBFA channels its efforts towards realising measurable and meaningful outcomes in key areas of concern. At the heart of our mission lies maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health, where WBFA has spearheaded innovative programs to address the pressing challenges faced by women, girls and children in Nigeria. Through strategic global and local partnerships and community engagement, we strive to empower expectant mothers, growing girls and boys, and inter-generations of communities with access to quality healthcare services, education, and support systems, ensuring the best health outcomes throughout the life cycle.

The Wellbeing Foundation Africa’s commitment extends beyond healthcare to encompass broader issues such as education, climate and environmental sustainability, and gender equality. By enacting policy campaigns, advancing early childhood development, and empowering women and girls, we aim to foster holistic wellbeing and create opportunities for all individuals to thrive. Our approach is guided by a strong sense of integrity, compassion, and innovation, underpinned by evidence-based research and best practices. By leveraging our expertise and collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including governments, private sector organisations, and local community groups, we strive to effect lasting community behavioural change that positively impacts lives. As we continue on our journey, WBFA remains steadfast in its commitment to building healthier, more resilient communities across Nigeria and Africa, where every individual has the opportunity to lead a fulfilling and prosperous life.
