WBFA’s Project Oscar Light For Life Partners Implementation Learning Workshop

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the Wellbeing Foundation Africa’s Project Oscar Light For Life Partners Implementation Learning Workshop, led by the WBFA Program Director and Monitoring & Evaluation Manager.

It was incredibly inspiring to see strong engagement from key stakeholders, including focal leaders from the Lagos State Ministry of Health, the London School of Tropical Medicine, Lagos University Teaching Hospitals, NEST360, and SCIDaR. Together, we are working towards impactful goals: screening 9,000 newborns, training 300 healthcare workers, reaching 10,000 mothers, and equipping 18 selected primary, secondary, and tertiary public health facilities across Lagos State with phototherapy units and bilirubinometers for neonatal jaundice screening, treatment, and prevention of kernicterus in Nigeria.

The Project Oscar Light For Life Program, a social impact initiative supported by Reckitt, aims to reduce the incidence and complications of neonatal jaundice through enhanced early detection, timely treatment, and increased community awareness—an essential step toward improving neonatal health outcomes.
